What's Crosspoint?
So, what IS Crosspoint?
Crosspoint is the name of a church in the St. Louis MetroEast area (SW Illinois area); as with all names, Crosspoint is our identity.
The name "Crosspoint" does not identify any denomination, organization, affiliation, or any other man-made-iation. We believe that talk as all well and good, but action is what really matters. Therefore, our name identifies not just who we are, but what we do.
CROSS-POINTING is exactly what we do, and will always strive to do. No matter what we are doing nor how we are doing it, that is our goal. Whether we're teaching solid truth about who Jesus real was and is, engaging in small groups, or making sure a struggling family can have a decent Christmas dinner at home, the entire purpose is to point to people to what really matters - Christ Jesus. When one stops Cross-Pointing, they stop being a part of Crosspoint.
Let me tell you another thing: no matter what you envision as what a church is, ought to be, or does - you had better think again! Crosspoint is about relationships - making them, growing them, sustaining them.
Did you know that wherever two or three (or more) get together who are believers, that "church" is happening as far as God is concerned? That's right, we are the church; not a big stack of brick and concrete.
Did you know that the very first churches began in homes?
That's right. In a home. We have some home small groups that have a blast every week, and not just on Sunday. You can join one before you ever find your way into the church's doors too -- just e-mail cells@cpconnect.org.
